conclusion of the two days filming

One the first day of filming Jack and I met up at the location of Jack's house in Bourne. As we were filming both days at this location we decided to stick to the main shots which were going to be filmed upstairs/on the stairs. This was because we had to set the scene for example, empty rubbish on the floor, throw clothes etc - basically make this room look a mess to add to our mise-en-scene. This was something that if we filmed straight away we didn't have to worry about filming it again the next day keeping the room as mess for two days straight and we were able to clean up quicker. Before we started filming, we looked round the bedroom, stairs etc to see what source of light would be effective to use such as natural light or simply turning a light on. Also, the characters costumes were all set and ready and something that went with our mise-en-scene and what we have planned earlier in our production stage.

There were various scenes that we had to change due to props and availability etc for example, we were going to have our character signing along to the song playing a guitar. As neither of owned a guitar we asked a good friend of ours in we could borrow theirs. On the day of the filming the guitar was no longer is use and was not available for us to use on the two days on filming. It was to much short notice to ask anyone else for a guitar so we had to deal with the fact we had to prop to work with.  To over come this we just simply had the character singing along to the lyrics without a guitar. We knew this was a negative aspect of our promo as a guitar would fit within our promo, but it was something we had to deal with.

On the second day of filming we met up again at the location of Jack's house in Bourne. Before we started filming we had time to check over footage that was done the day before to make sure no technical issues had overcome that we didn't notice before. We filmed the stop motion parts of the promo on this day due to completing everything else. This is as we knew it might take up some time so pretty much had all day to complete this. Although, we already did practice shots of the idea we wanted to use, we had to do more due to the mise-en-scene and lighting so we got a relatively good shot. There were two parts of the stop motion we wanted to film, one with the clock how it moves gradually and one where the character is singing in bed with his clothes gradually changing - something that will hopefully fit with the conventions of a pop rock promo that we are producing.

Other scenes which we still had to shoot were the kitchen scenes and how the characters makes a mess of the kitchen when walking in - we were trying to get the idea across to the audience that the character makes a mess wherever he goes so there is a trail to where he has been. This didn't take us long due to having two cameras so we were able to have two different shot types when developing our promo further.

Once this scene was shot, we were able to look back at the footage once while looking through our plans to see if we believed our footage, variety of shots etc were going to be effective to use when creating our promo. Jack and I were both agreed that we had some successful footage that would work in our favour on the next few weeks of editing.

The only thing left we had to do was upload our footage onto the macs at school and start editing.
